This update opens a few more doors. Some of what's new is for everyone: free tools you can use without an account. The rest is for the people who spend their days inside Folio: a calmer dashboard, a more capable gallery editor, and more ways to make your public pages feel unmistakably yours.
Free tools, no account needed
We've published two small tools that are free for anyone to use. Share them with a friend, keep them bookmarked, no sign-up required.
Watermark Tool
Drop in a photo, add your mark, and download it back. A quick way to protect an image before you send it out into the world. Try it out here.
EXIF Viewer
Curious what camera, lens, or settings made a shot? Load a photo and Folio reads the details captured the moment the shutter fired. Try it out here.
A redesigned dashboard
The dashboard has been rebuilt around a calmer, more consistent layout. Settings, your galleries, the trash, and the loading moments in between all feel more of a piece now.
A more capable gallery editor
The gallery editor learned a handful of small but welcome habits:
- Right-click menus throughout the editor, so the action you want is always a click away.
- An EXIF sidebar that shows the camera details for the photo you're looking at, without leaving the page.
- Select all with Ctrl+A, plus right-click menus on your collection tabs for faster organizing.
Make your public pages yours
A few more ways to put your stamp on the pages clients and visitors see:
- Custom favicons — the little icon in the browser tab can now be yours.
- Better link previews — when someone shares a public gallery in a message or on social media, Folio now generates a clean preview image automatically.
Quietly, behind the scenes
As always, a good deal of this release is invisible. We've tightened security around accounts and sign-ins, made sure taken-down work stays private, and improved how Folio holds steady when something upstream has a bad moment.
Most of it you'll never notice, and that's the point. Galleries should open, links should keep working, and your work should stay yours.
