Folio vs Pixieset
A connected studio, or a focused gallery space?
Pixieset makes sense when your gallery is one part of a larger client workflow. Folio is worth considering when your main job is presenting a portfolio and delivering photographs. Start with how you work, rather than how many features appear on a pricing page.

You want galleries, a website, and business administration in one ecosystem. Pixieset offers Client Gallery, Website, and Studio Manager, with individual subscriptions or a Suite bundle. Its Store supports print and download sales.
Consider Folio if…
You already handle bookings and payments elsewhere, and want a dedicated place for your portfolio and private galleries. Folio offers password protection, watermarks, and separate individual and ZIP download controls without requiring clients to create an account.
01. What to weigh
The difference is what surrounds the gallery
Delivering a wedding is only one step in running a wedding business. If you also need to schedule the session, send a contract, and collect payment, Pixieset’s Studio Manager deserves a close look. Folio does not replace a booking, contracts, or invoicing system. Keeping your existing tools can be sensible; moving everything to one suite can be sensible too.

Print sales can decide this for you
Pixieset includes Store with Client Gallery, with automatic or self fulfillment options. If clients regularly buy prints from their delivery gallery, test that checkout before considering a switch. Folio’s current offering centers on presentation and delivery; it does not provide an integrated print store. A gallery you prefer visually is not necessarily a replacement for a sales workflow that earns its keep.

Compare the subscription you would actually use
Pixieset separates its products and also bundles them in Suite. Compare a gallery subscription with Folio if delivery is all you need; compare the full cost of your website and business tools if you are considering the suite. Check storage, branding, custom domains, and store fees at your intended tier. Neither the lowest advertised price nor the longest feature list tells you your total cost.

Price the plan that covers your storage and required features, at the same billing interval. Include taxes, separate website or business subscriptions, and any sales or fulfillment fees. We link to current plan details instead of freezing a promotional price into this guide.
What to test before committing
Run one complete client job: share a private gallery, collect any selections your process requires, deliver the final files, and check the experience on a phone. If you rely on contracts or a store, include those steps. A beautiful gallery alone is not a complete test of your business workflow.
If you’re thinking of switching
Before leaving Pixieset, account for your website pages, store orders, client records, and any active Studio Manager documents as well as the images. Do not assume a photo upload transfers those records or preserves old collection links. Start with a new job in Folio while existing clients finish their work in Pixieset.
